If your animal needs urgent care:

During regular business hours, we accept ALL emergencies and urgent cares.

We provide immediate care vet services for the Donner-Truckee and Tahoe areas during business hours. Our veterinarians are fully prepared to quickly and accurately diagnose, treat and manage your pet’s illness or injury. Our urgent care services and veterinarians are highly trained and skilled in immediate care for your pet and have access to a state-of-the-art surgery suite, high-speed ultrasound and all necessary supplies and equipment. After receiving any necessary urgent care, patients are transferred back to the care of their regular veterinarian.

Examples of Urgent Care Needs:

  • Difficulty breathing (gasping, noisy respiration, blue tongue, etc.)
  • Acute abdominal swelling or pain
  • Electric shock
  • Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Symptoms of heat stroke
  • Repetitive or prolonged seizures
  • Snake bites
  • High or low temperature (more than 104 or less than 99 degrees)
  • Difficulty urinating or defecating
  • Ingestion of a foreign object (toy, string, bone, etc.)
  • Ingestion of toxic substances (bring container or name of chemical ingested)
  • Allergic reactions
  • Inability to deliver puppies or kittens
  • Hit by car
  • Seizure
  • Animal bite
